Valeria (“Leah”) Poltorak was trained as a biophysicist and molecular biologist. She is a co-founder and the President of Ryogen, LLC, a genomic start-up headquartered in Suffern, NY. Before founding Ryogen, Valeria Poltorak served as Vice President and a director of General Patent Corporation, where she focused on biotechnology and life sciences. Earlier in her career, Valeria Poltorak was engaged in biomedical research at Rockefeller University and the Moscow Institute of Virology. She immigrated to the United States in 1982. Valeria Poltorak graduated in 1979 from Tbilisi State University in Soviet Georgia, with an M.S. in Biophysics.
